Pastor Richard L. Freeman, Sr.

Pastor Richard Lonnie Freeman, Sr., a native of Waycross, Georgia, was called to the Resurrection Baptist Church in July 2004. He was officially installed as Pastor on August 29, 2004. After a successful 13 year career in the group and health insurance business as a Marketing Executive, God ordered Pastor Freeman’s steps to engage full-time in some aspect of ministry. Pastor Freeman serves as the Manager of Pastoral care at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, a position he has held for over 18 years.

Pastor Freeman has a love of teaching God’s word and for helping families: gifts effectively utilized while functioning as the Pastor of Teaching at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Pittsburgh and the Bethesda Baptist Church in Washington, DC. Pastor Freeman has a keen passion for establishing and rebuilding families. He has done multiple workshops on marital reconciliation, dating, and marital preparation. He firmly believes that a strong family is a family committed to growing in the love and knowledge of God.
Pastor Freeman and our first lady, Sister Debbie (as she is affectionately called), have been married for over 30 years. They are the proud parents of three adult children: Richard, Jr., Joyelle, Andrew, and his wife Jamie. They are also deeply blessed to have their grandson, Andrew, Jr.
